The new 2014 Jeep Cherokee is poised to make its triumphant return to the new Jeep model lineup and as such, it has been garnering a ton of attention in automotive communities across the nation. Now, most of the talk about the model has been about the awesome, new exterior styling, but there's another aspect to the model that drivers are going to love; it is set to be the most fuel efficient Jeep model ever made available to US consumers.
Yes indeed, the most fuel efficient Jeep model ever. This new front-wheel drive iteration of the classic Cherokee will now feature Chrysler's highly efficient 2.4-liter four cylinder engine, capable of 31 miles per gallon on the highway by EPA estimates. Jeep had announced that this figure was their efficiency goal for the new Cherokee a few months ago at the NY Auto Show, and despite the ambitious nature of the goals they laid out for themselves, the engineers were able to make this claim a reality.
Jeep wanted this model to be especially efficient and stylized because it wants to attract a broader range of customers to its already widely-appealing lineup of vehicles. The thinking is that fuel efficiency was one of the hang ups that customers may have had about Jeep models as compared to more run-of-the-mill ones, is that they were not quite as efficient. Well, that statement is true no more.
