Could a Jeep Truck be in the works?

After teasing us with the idea of having a Jeep truck, it looks as if the brand has finally decided to go through with it. Based on the iconic Wrangler Unlimited, some spy photos have been released of what could be Jeeps newest model. This will be the first Jeep truck since the 80s, and will be a great extension of their already robust SUV line.

According to Car and Driver, word is that Jeep will be equipping this new truck with “Chrysler’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, which powers the current Wrangler, to return, with a manual and an automatic transmission. The automatic should be a ZF-sourced eight-speed, rather than the five-speed in today’s Wrangler. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder also is expected for the Wrangler (it could be called Hurricane) and could appear in the pickup version, as well. So, too, could a turbo-diesel.”

We hope to see Jeep announce this new model in late 2017. Check back for more information as we get more news on the newest models!
