Jeep Trailcat Concept is a Hell-Forged Off-Roader

If the seventh circle of hell had trails, the all-new Jeep Trailcat Concept was built to conquer them. Seen above, this prototype was launched in an event ahead of this year's Moab Easter Jeep Safari. What sets this model apart--aside from its mean looks and high riding stature--is the presence of FCA's snarly 6.2-liter Supercharged HEMI V8.

Yes, friends, you read that right. The Trailcat is a Wrangler Hellcat, or as near of one as we're going to get. To make such a bastion of beast mode possible, the engineers cut two inches from the windshield, lengthened the wheelbase by a foot, and stuck the chassis on four fat 39.5-inch tires. Between those aggressive looks and the 707 horsepower, our fantasies of blasting through the desert at 200 miles an hour came a couple steps closer to reality.
